Far Horizons

Over the years of living and traveling overseas, I've found often the best information I've received was from other travelers. Still, I've relied on guidebooks initially. My personal favorite guidebooks, and the ones I've used the most, are from Lonely Planet. My question to the forum is: what guidebooks have you found most helpful for various places? Also, if you are planning a trip you might ask the forum for help in choosing a guidebook.
